5-6th December, 2022, Virtual meeting
European science is moving quickly towards Open Science, accelerating the share of scientific knowledge with society. Open Science represents an opportunity for the nuclear physics community to improve the management and use of the large data sets produced in nuclear physics facilities around Europe and foster new collaborations. As a goal towards an Open Science nuclear physics, the development of suited data workflow that could be shared among the nuclear physics European facilities would represent a major step forward. The data produced in these facilities should follow the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) to ensure long term storage and possible future use by, and outside, the community.
We are please to announce our mini-Workshop on Open Science in nuclear physics the 5th and 6th of December 2022. With many ongoing actions on the subject it is time for our community to start working on coordination.
The workshop will be held remotely, in a light weight fashion, with two half day sessions. The program will give ample time for discussion as well. We will review ongoing actions in France and Europe and try to identify new area of improvement.
The aim of the workshop is to identify actors within the french community willing to participate in the creation and implementation of an open science policy and define working group thematic. This imply subject such as data catalog, data storage and curation, e-logging facility, publication and access to nuclear data, analysis platforms and central identification facility to access all services. With strong institutional support, many opportunity for financing development of new tool are available and we need to be ready for future call.
